Shamini & Shasti's performance + I'm sick

I was going to do this post last night but I was quiet sick but feel better than I did last night. Not only do I have bronchitis but also bacterial laryngitis. Both of which I have are contagious. I have had one or the other in the past but I was not given antiobiotics since it was viral. Unluckily for me this time :( I feel like I've been punched mutiple times in the stomuch, chest and back and laughing or coughing is just too painful. I remember specifically speaking to one of the doctors at work last Thursday night who had bronchitis and clueless me asked if it was contagious and he replied it wasn't ... well it is! Friday afternoon I was coughing and my entire body ached and I had a fever. I went home, took three panadeine forte and stayed in bed til Saturday morning. I felt a little better and thought I could still make it to Shamini and Shasti's performance with my friends but later at night my voice pretty much disappeared by the end of the night and I was coughing my lungs out. Sunday, Christina and I headed down to the doctors because I was feeling like crap. The doctor prescribed me an antibiotic and a prescription cough suppresant. I ate a whole lemon today just so I wouldn't vomit. Lovely. Sunday night as I was raiding, I took both meds with some food and almost instantly my head felt like a tonne and I was feeling dizzy and nauseous. I find, it only becomes worse when I take both meds together and they both can make you dizzy and drowsy. I could only manage to stay in raid for only an hour because by that time, I felt vomit creeping up my throat so I went to bed at 10pm. I know some of my guildies were shitty that I had to bail out after a few tries on Yogg. It was pretty obvious over vent that I sounded like a man with my loss of voice but all they managed to reply was "hmm ... ok" Talk about being considerate. You could be dieing and they wouldn't take that for an excuse because 'progression' is all that matters to these kids. Don't get me wrong, I love playing WoW since computer games are my only hobby and I'm not into any form of sport but it's not my whole life. Funny though, because when I phoned the doctor this morning to get some Maxolon for nausea and vomiting, I was told he called in sick today. I'm just hoping he didn't get either of what I have. I was given 2 days off of work (today and tommorow) so I'm hoping I don't feel this crap by Wednesday because as much as I loathe being at work, I need the money for my trip. Fifi has a little plan for us both to make some extra cash and it doesn't involve having to get nekkid. (I hope) :P So that's the depressing side of my weekend. Saturday night, Christina and I headed down to the city to watch Shamini and Shasti perform at Hunter bar. They're planning to leave for London in a few months or up to a year to do some work there so this was a good opportunity for Christina and I to watch them before they leave because we'll be both heading overseas ourselves around the same time. Cindy called me and agreed to joining us so yay the more the merrier :) Cindy and I have been catching up more recently since we both share the same enthusiasm for WoW lols. And quickly before I forget, I received my Sportsgirl order I think last Thursday or Friday. I really like the necklace and even wore it out on Saturday:

So on Saturday, there were more snapping photos involved than dancing that night. And more photos of Christina and I than the performance :/ This took me a while to resize and group them and there are still heaps more pics. We were running late because it took Nina and I forever and a day to paint our faces. I didn't take close up pics of my make up but I finally was brave enough to use black eyeshadow all over my lid and I actually liked how it turned out without looking like I have a black eye :)
The photos are a mix from mine, Donna's and Christina's cameras:

Since I wasn't planning to drink much, I decided to drive. The weather was crappy Saturday evening so I wasn't in the mood to take public transport. We found a nice cozy spot to park right infront of "Gentleman's club" on Pitt St where a whole lot of dirty old men were standing around waiting eagerly to go in. We went to Christina's workmates 30th-something birthday at karaoke world first. I didn't know you had to be 18 and over just to go to a karaoke bar now, well atleast this one you did since they have a bar serving alcohol inside. But I still think they should just check for ID AT THE BAR. But whatever, I don't go to karaoke myself. Cindy and I headed down first because the tightass that I am didn't want to pay for entrance.

I swear, that girl Cindy CAN DRINK. I lost count of how many drinks she ordered and she ordered about five drinks for me and that is even way more than I can handle. One of our friends Len at Hunter gave us a bottle of champers and Cindy drank it all and she was still up for more drinks at 2am! She's crazy ...
I must say, what made the night more enjoyable was the nice staff and bouncers they had at the front. They didn't make us wait out in the rain like the bouncers at SHARKIES do. They were actually friendly and didn't act all tough.

And since you can't get enough /cough/sarcasm ...

Our bathroom BJ photos. First it was only Nina and I, then Cindy came along and then Donna joined in. Good times :)

Quick last group photo. Sorry Cindy for covering you with my massive head:

Donna, I know you read this and you live right next door to me YET we hardly see each other! (what is up with that huh?!) BUT I absolutely cannot wait!! I am so ECSTATIC!!! arrghhhhh!!!

On Sunday, after we managed to haul our asses out of bed, we went down to Westfield for lunch after my visit to the doctor's and we went past the new section of the Miracle Asian supermarket located in Westfield and this is what they unravelled:

I took the following photos with my phone on Sunday since it's not so obvious taking a photo with a phone than a camera :P

Our own little Sasa/AKA Asian goodie store. They sold Shiseido, Majorca, Kate, Asian hair dye products and more but at ridiculous prices like AKA so I don't know how long they will last. Atleast, they have the grocery part to keep their business up if they're going to make profit.

I took Christina to the 'Smart Dollar' (bargain variety store) on Victoria Ave. And if you could just see the stuff they sell in there, you would be convinced it was an adult's shop. Here's proof:

Yep, a supposive two bucks store selling dil-dos and such.

And amongst the attachable boobies and butts, I found this:

An 'Inflatable Bachelor Party Doll -"The perfect women for a fun night out!" and the best part is she's yours for only AUD$3.50! Heck you can buy five of her since she's so cheap! Funny coz it doesn't read 'Blow up doll' anywhere, though you know that's what it screams just by looking at this box haha.

Look what they replaced my frequently visited cheap clothing store with:

/rolls eyes 'Ed Hardy' ...

My Jun is staying over to take care of me today. What a champ :)

EDIT: I meant Transformers 2 is out Wednesday for the Aussies :)

Hope you had an awesome weekend!

Haulin'

Hmm .. I'd have to say I feel somewhat guilty and shameful at what I have managed to accumulate over the past few days (most of it) considering my piggy bank isn't looking too happy with me and I have less than 2 months til my trip and I haven't saved near what I was hoping. This is what that extra AUD900 rudd dollars was supposed to go to and unfortunately I wasn't eligible for it this year since I got pretty much all of my tax back last year /sigh.

So the M.A.C Style Warrior collection just hit Oz yesterday and it was Donna that reminded me so blame her kk? She bought the 'golden refined' bronzer and the lustre drops in 'pink rebel' and I went to have a peek at it today and I ended up with pretty much the same as hers cept I got the lustre drops in 'sun rush' instead. I was eyeing the bronzing sprays that were there as well but talked myself out of it as I wouldn't use it often.
Pricing: The lustre drops were AUD40.00 and the refined bronzer was AUD45.00 (have some pity for us aussies) But I think that's all I'll be getting from this collection.
Product photos:
The packaging is divine! I believe the regular 'refined golden' bronzer in its normal packaging is AUD39.00 so we're paying an extra AUD6.00 for the pretty packaging /rolls eyes ay nako!
I really wanted to get my hands on the refined bronzer since it's a whole lot cheaper than NARS laguna(AUD72.00?!) which I currently use everyday as a bronzer and contour.

M.A.C lustre drops in 'Sun Rush':

I got this color over the other 2 because I already use Eyeko's 'glow' cream as a liquid highlighter and it works fine for me. 'Bronze hero' I thought looked quiet similar to eyeko's tinted cream but maybe slightly darker in tone. So I opted for this one because I want to try mixing it in with some foundation as I have read and heard on some reviews that it's a nice medium to mix it with.

M.A.C refined golden bronzer close up:

It looks 'peachy' in color on my cam but I think that's just the flash. It's more of a lighter brown in person.

Swatches of both 'refined golden' bronzer and lustre drops in 'sun rush':

Here I compared the lustre drops in 'sun rush' to eyeko's tinted cream. You can tell the M.A.C's lustre drops has a more even color throughout it even with one swatch.

Does anyone else find the Eyeko tinted cream to be quiet 'streaky'? If I don't blend it perfectly and I leave it to dry, it looks like skid marks on your face LOLS joke but something like that ...

Here I wanted to compare the M.A.C's 'Refined Golden' to my current bronzers NARS 'Laguna' and M.A.C 'So Ceylon':

I do like how 'refined golden' looks much pigmented than 'laguna' because even though it's nice to have the option of layering as much 'laguna' on, having my bronzer a bit more pigmented saves time when applying and also saves product! Though NARS laguna looks like it has more shimmer imo. M.A.C's 'So Ceylon' looks more like a golden-peach compared to the other 2 - just my opinion.

Last weekend I went to Peter Alexander to buy a present for Mimi's birthday and I ended up buying something for myself as well ... how did that happen?! I saw these stretch satin off the shoulder dresses in red and in black on the rack priced down to AUD49.00 from AUD69.00 and thought that was too expensive until the SA came up to me and told me they were a FURTHER 50% OFF. Why did you have to do that?! Lucky for me they had 2 of each of the colors left in my size (actually I lie, XS is NOT my size, their garments tend to just run bigger.)

They were only AUD24.50 each! They're one solid color so it's nice and simple to just wear out casually or even to dress them up a bit.

Then I had a look at the Sportsgirl online store today because I have been in love with Sportsgirl attire for quiet some time now. They didn't use to stock items like they do now so it's pretty much my favourite shop to go for clothing.

So here I bought 3 'Aladdin' pants or whatever else people call them these days. They were all priced between AUD99.95-AUD129.95 down to AUD29.95 each! These are my favourite type of pants to wear. So light, loose and most importantly comfortable. I have about five more that I've purchased in the past year. I don't care if they look daggy (-.-)

I saw that they had the satin/silk jumpsuitthat I was eyeing a while back that's currently on sale now for only AUD29.95! So I hurried down to Chatty and lucky for me, the SAs were JUST putting out the sales items on the rack! I was overjoyed LOL especially since I missed out on the Witchery sale. There was a shortsleeve silk/jumpsuit with gold buttons that I saw but they didn't have any in my size. It was priced from AUD179.95 down to AUD39.95! They only had size 12's left and I tried that on but it looked ridiculous since it was past my knees. Mum said she could alter it but that's gonna be too much work for her so whatever, I passed.

Anyway back to the satin jumpsuit .. they only had size 8s and up left but when I tried the size 8s on, it fitted fine everywhere cept around the armpits - it was too loose and when I bend over, the chest part comes down too low showing my hoo-hars (or lack of). I placed an order for a size 6 online.

I don't mind that these will make me look like I have a sagging bottom or a huge ball sack :)

I couldn't see this real nice charm necklace instore today so I placed one on order:

it's AUD14.95.

And I got this golden rope headband for only AUD4.95 :)

These are my favourite (and only) ugg boots that I purchased last month on sale. I wanted it in black but they didn't have anymore in my size. This was the last one. They're called 'Peter Pan' uggs boots because of the style. Got em for only AUD50.00 or AUD40.00 at the Surf/Dive and Ski shop. Ira got herself a pair also! I dunno if Fifi found one in her size in the city branch.

They're super comfy and the bottom soles are made out of rubber instead of the foam that some other Ugg boots are made out so these can be worn out in the rain. It has wool only around the ankle/lower calf area so they're super warm. I've been wearing them pretty much everyday just to go down to the shops. So for all them ugg boot haters out there :P~~~~

And this is what you may call my 'useless rubbish' part of the haul since we all know they're not going to be used for anything much .. But I am a big big fan of Me2U bears and my local newsagency were selling their range of them on sale! I have seen the larger version of this me2u bear in the raincoat and pink boots but it was like around AUD60.00. I may be stupid to fall for cute things like these but not stupid enough to hand over AUD60.00 for it! (I just wait for it to go on sale of course! This one I got is about 7 inches tall. Got her for only AUD13.99. Dont you just love it when you fall for the 1 cent off the round figure ... Apparantely, it's "supposed" to look 'cheaper' and more 'affordable' in the eyes of consumers. /shrug I don't care I love Me2U so much more than Forever Friend bears! I have probably spend countless $1 coins on them 'toy grabbing' machines if it contains a Me2U bear.

The second photo below the teddy are phone charms of Me2U bears dressed up in animal suits. I first saw the one dressed up in a lion suit and thought they were Zodiac sign themed but was wrong but got one anyway! I got one in a pig, cow, lion (coz I'm a Leo), an elephant and a duck! They were AUD3.00 each down from AUD10.00 :) When I asked the counter dude if they were indeed only AUD3.00 each he mocked me as though I had striked it lucky lol. ( "YES theyyyy arrrre! /big grin raised eyebrow look) <- you try that.

Oh and one of my favourite necklaces from Tree of Life broke :(

If anyone is curious how that happened, this is how I store my bigger/longer necklaces - on a tie rack and I hang it on a wall pretty much behind my door zzz. So now it's placed just beside my bed.

Yeah, I now know putting it behind the door was just an accident waiting to happen. But I usually have clothes behind my door so my door doesn't usually come in contact with my necklace rack but yep, one day it did. I'm pretty bummed because Tree of Life never really brings up previous pieces that they have sold before just like Seduce and that's why I can never have my leafe earrings again! (I've converted it into a necklace charm :( )

Now THESE are what got me all ecstatic:

I've mentioned these in one of my snack related post a while back. They're the ever so crispy 'Tao Kae Noi' (whatever that means) seaweed snacks that come in a variety of flavours such as hot 'n' spicy, regular, tomato, wasabi, tom yum and some others I haven't tried yet. The ones I've mentioned are the only ones I've tried. They're usually about AUD3.50 for a bag and I think that's bloody too expensive for a bag of chips that only last a minute in my hands! But these were on SALE for AUD1.95 emphasis on the '5' since it's really 2 bucks BUT you're saving a whopping 5cents! Holy doly! The caramel corn snack on the bottom was probably the only thing that wasn't on SALE since I paid the full price of AUD4.25 for it. But they tasted nice :)

Here is a photo of one. I feel somewhat lame for taking a pic of a piece of 'chip'.

And coz I'm a weirdo, let's look at it again ... but closer.

Compacted seaweed pieces formed to create the crispyness (is that a word?)

What have you been hauling?

Miriam's 27th

It's past 2pm in the arvo and it's depressing as hell outside. Jun and I are just bumming and watching DVDs whilst snacking. How productive. Least I could do is to blog right?!

It was Miriam's 27th birthday Saturday night. She celebrated it at the 'Out of Africa' restaurant in Manly. First up we ordered drinks. I ordered the melon ball drink which was basically just a midori illusion. It was too sweet for my liking and didn't end up finishing it =/

By the time we had dinner, it was past 9.30pm and we were starving! I ordered the pork dish with couscous which did not fill me up! Jun ordered the 'Afro' BBQ chicken which I ended up scabbing off. Photos of some dishes served:

Their dishes are on average AUD25.00. The taste was OK but not enough flavour IMO.

We definately still had room for more food so Jun and I shared the 'Moroccan chocolate cake (AUD13.90). It was small piece :( with a scoop of vanilla icecream and cream. It was warm and gooey andd had pieces of walnuts and almonds throughout. It was heaven! If only it was a bigger piece or cheaper I would've ordered 3 slices!

After dinner, we headed to 'Charlies Bar' down near the beach. It had 2 levels. The upper level held some sort of function where people were dressed up as different races. We grabbed one of them and took photos with him (the Asian white man LOL)

Donna's photos I nicked off her FB:

Thanks Donna!

I resized the following images waaay too small by accident and didn't realise:

I haven't done a FOTD in a long time so here's one! You're probably sick of my face so I gave you 3 :)

I used L'egere pearl shiny BB cream for my foundation as usual. My face may look darker to my chest because I was trying the bronzed look by applying NARS laguna for my cheeks and contour (are you supposed to apply bronzer to your chest also??) and some MAC petticoat on top but it wore out by the end of the night. I'm gonna look into getting a good primer I think. Any suggestions?

This is my mug w/o any make up on I took a few days ago. Thank goodness for make up. It's gross and I need to wax my mo' lols.

My face looks lighter than my neck because of the flash but it's also a tad lighter in person and I dunno if it's the rose hip oil that I use almost every single night that's made it like that. I have used rose hip for years now since I had chicken pox and I used it to fade the scars away. I haven't found a good face moisturiser and that's why I've stucked to it and I don't use sunscreen everyday either.

Close up of my eye make up:

I used a purple for the other V and some very light pink/cream from the coastal scents palette. I haven't ventured out in using more than 2 or 3 colors at most. If I use more than too many colors, it ends up looking like I have a black eye =/

My quick 'do for the night.

Outfit of the day:

Got bored waiting for Donna and Paolo. I want my hair like this :P

And if you'd like, please support me in the Aussie Sims 3 fan page . I've got a measly 5 supports so far lols and I'd really love to win a Mac laptop :P (wouldn't we all?!)

update Saturday June 13th 2009

I've been watching this MUA on YT and have been picking up a few tips and tricks from him. Yep HIM.

Check out his other vids. He's great!

It was a friend's birthday last the weekend. We had dinner in Wagamama at Darling Harbour. The last time I had come here was for Aileen's birthday a few years back and I completely forgot or more like did not have any recollections on the food and after dining there that evening, I remembered why. Lucky I had a few pistachio macaroons and a slice of black forest cake at the Lindt cafe before heading there (yep who says you can't have dessert before the main meal!?)For anyone that doesn't know Wagamama, it's a 'fusion' of Japanese and Western cuisine. To me, it was more the type of food you buy in them plastic take away containers the Asian take away food counters sell at the end of the day to get rid of them. Pretty bland and boring and I won't forget expensive! I only ordered the edamame as a side dish which was overcooked because they tasted like potatoes, even the texture was like it too. I prefer the ones you buy at the Asian grocers in the frozen section for AUD3.00 a bag. I almost forgot what I had ordered last week (because it was THAT bloody boring) but yeah, I had the cha-han for my main. The only dish I liked was the sweet potato chips with some type of dip that Donna had ordered.

Most, if not all their main dishes are priced around the AUD20.00 mark or up! Jun was the last to receive his orders after the whole table had consumed theirs so we cancelled it. They however ended up serving it to us and crossed it off the bill as complimentary but he didn't end up eating the whole bowl. Mind you, it tasted and smelled like a barn. Yes a barn! Where cows and horses sleep.

I charged my camera and forgot to bring it with me so all photos were taken with my crapola of a phone.

With the birthday girl Doretta:

(I look creepy lols)

Having some fun with my Sims 3 plumbob usb keyring:

And if anyone is reading this, I have entered into the Sims 3 Aussie fan page contest and would appreciate it greatly if anyone would please support me by clicking on this LINK and clicking the 'Become a Supporter' button just under my avator on the top left hand side.

I wanted to share photos of this super adorable dog known as chows-chows. My friends and I were talking about them sometime last week and I googled them up and now I am obsessed with them! If only I had one of course ..

They look like a cross between a bear and a lion and the older they get the fluffier they become!

The following images taken randomly from google.com:

They're like a big fluff of cotton :)

They don't have much of a bark and their tongues are blue.

So beautiful!

Only thing that comes to mind is when they do a poo and having that poo smeared all over the back of its' fluffy behind (O.O)

And something random and weird - I was checking my email and saw this on the home page. Info about semen facials and products with "foreskin cells" /vomits.

"A Norwegian company, aptly named Bioforskning, has synthesised a compound found in the little swimmers and claims the resulting concoction is the ultimate new wrinkle-busting antioxidant"

and

"Cosmetic company SkinMedica made a name for itself when it admitted its TNS Recovery Complex was formulated with harvested foreskin cells. "

and if that isn't enough to gross you out, how about some bird poop facial?

GROSS. THAT'S NASTY! God bless them souls that actually get suckered into this crap.

Anyway ...

Have a great weekend!

xoxo

Update + Sims 3 out!

Photos from last Sunday's lunch at Pyrmont's fish market with Christina, though I don't have any photos from the actual fish market (Nina you have more of them!) but these are the ones taken at Passionflower on George St. I got some green tea ice cream with glutinous balls, white jelly and herbal jelly with a shot of coconut syrup yum-o! Christina had some tropical fruit with 3 scoops of ice cream; green tea, taro and rice cake was it?

Christina admiring the desserts mmmmm ...

Lol I wanted to add this in. She shows how we pros eat our ice cream:

Haha so cute.

Cupcakes on Pitt opened a branch in Chatswood Westfield just right next to Wanted shoes where Sunglass Hut used to be. It's weird because um 'Cupcakes ON PITT'. Emphasis on the words 'ON PITT'. Kinda defeats the purpose of the name, but who's complaining that I can have delicious cupcakes anytime without having to travel all the way to the city =D

You can also preorder GIANT cupcake -CAKES for about AUD50.00. This was where they bought Fideliz's red velvet cupcake-cake for her birthday last Feb. The smaller ones are only AUD2.00 each. If you buy a dozen, you get a free cupcake keyring OoOoOh so tempting ... =P~

They looked too tasty I had to try a few. I got the tiramisu, vanilla sundae, lemon meringue (which mama gobbled up!), sticky date and strawberry. On their pamphlets they have a black forest cupcake but they had run out. Will try my luck this weekend !

And of course the long awaited SIMSFRIKKIN3!

Yes I have played it and still really giddy over it hehe.

Of course the first thing I made was a sim of myself. Funny though, because I try so hard ... spent so much into putting details and constantly looking in the mirror to try to copy what I see, but it doesn't turn out what I expect it to look. I have made sims of 3 of my friends with Sims 2 and theirs turned out better than the ones I made of myself!

LOL my first sim I made and um it's supposed to be me. Least I got the chin spot on lawls.

Don't laugh! There will be a second attempt you wait and see ...

*I preordered mine from Game but you can order the Sims 3 collector's edition at http://www.gameswarehouse.com.au/ for the aussies out there.

This came with the collector's edition. A 2GB USB memory stick shaped as the green curser thing that the sims have above their head. I've been so obsessed with it carrying it around in my bag sigh I'm so sad. But how awesome is it?! I love it! I've been a loser and hovering it over the top of other people's head and telling them to go do something LOL. "You do what I say biatch! you're in my world now!"

The price difference between the collector's edition and the regular is about AUD20.00 but I think it's worth it :)

You get the USB stick, exclusive ingame car, hint book and some stuckers /gasp!

I've been working all this week and haven't had a decent whole day to play this game. It's the long weekend since it's the Queen's bday but I'll be working Monday. Least time and half pay for me!

I will be updating on my games blog here that I only created just a few days ago so I don't fill up this blog with it hehe.

TBH, I'm quiet tired so I'm not even sure if what I just typed made any sense.

Have a fantabalous long weekend!

XO
