Met up with my friend Sylvia Thursday night. I am honestly proud of her. She's recently started working in RNSH as an RN and loving it because she genuinely cares for people. I'm hoping one day I'll find a career that I'll look forward waking up to. Anyway I finished work 8pm and she met up with me. We went to have dinner down at this new Japanese restaurant called Takeru that is located in Victoria Plaza right beside The Chase. It's the same as Wagaya that is located in the city near Market City where you use a touch screen to place your order. I haven't been to the one in the city but now I won't be so curious. I like how they offer half main dishes if you prefer to have a bit of something else or you just want to try it or you're not feeling too hungry.
We bought a container full of takoyaki from the Thursday night stalls to share so that filled me up a bit. Ordered their half dish cha-han rice, seafood salad (more like a sashimi salad with vinegrette) and for dessert a slice of cheesecake with black sesame ice cream. What I really liked was their mocha green milk tea with a scoop of green tea. It is so refreshing I think I'll be making some of my own at home yummm. I was planning on ordering more because I thought it wouldn't be enough but I was full! Will definately come back and try the other dishes.
Dropped Sylvia home at her new place. Man .. her place is freaky. She's renting out a room in a big old 2-storey white house in Lindfield. I'm sure it looks nice during the day but at night it just looks like a giant haunted house lol. I made jokes to enlighten the atmosphere because I was seriously freaked out. The owner of the house had these wombat soft toys hanging by ropes in the driveway and had ceramic animals decorated all around the house. In the laundry room, there's this big hole in the wall and an old wooden rocking chair piled up with some other old stuff. My mind starts playing games with me I swear ...
I bought a second pair of glasses I use for driving. I wanted a pair of plain plastic ones because I'm careless with my glasses. I never place them in the case and just chuck them in my bag so I thought plastic would be safer and plus if I break or lose one I have a spare. The optometrist mentioned something about stigmatism? My eyesight isn't too bad. One eye is -.75 and the other is -1.00. I'll start to get worried once it hits past -2.00. I've been wearing glasses for around 3 years now and I'm glad it hasn't worsen.
Pushing it up because it keeps falling off my non-existant bridge!
My useless mini haul today from Kmart. Found these nail art things in their reject pile. Two bucks each. Score! I bought them for the decorations and not really for the stick on nails because I'm afraid if I wear them, they'll get caught in something and my nail will rip along with it ugh.
I've been looking around for a good dupe of MAC's seasonal peach nail polish but don't want to pay AUD22.00 for a bottle! I have found a few around the web.
All images were found through Google images:
MAC's promotional picture from the Cremasheen collection made it look more appealing but this was the best I could find on a real person's nail:
Bourjois Rose corset:
Its color in the bottle looks like a similar color to seasonal peach but both Kmart and Priceline have been out of stock of the nail polish 'Laque' set for days now. Dunno where else they'd stock Bourjois. So might try sometime next week.
I think OPI's 'An Italian Love Affair' is actually the closest match by picture I could find. Couldn't find it in any nail salons or in DJ's today. I think it might've been part of a LE collection. I found some online stores that sell OPI internationally but I'm not too keen since I had some broken bottles on arrival last time I ordered from Beverly Beaute. Luckily they replaced it with a new one but the other websites http://head2toebeauty.com and http://8ty8beauty.com don't replace damaged goods for international buyers boo.
Barielle:
I went to Blush nail salon to try my luck but found they stock China Glaze. I have seen many many pictures of China glazed painted nails all over the web and wanted to try them myself. They don't have a large selection but this color caught my eye (out of their limited selection). It's called 'Limbo Bimbo'. For AUD17.00 (US$11) it's pricey ... But I may order some online if I can't find OPI's 'an italian love affair'.
Umm I'll call this my 'superhero' inspired nails from the movie 'Watchmen' ... even though no one wore fuschia =/
I like how the color really shows with just one coat. Let's see how long it lasts until it starts to chip or peel.
What I used:
I wore Shiseido's majolica majorca's lash extender mascara today ... I bought this mascara last year but I only used it once only because it was hard to remove as I mentioned shortly here. Does the 3 months rule still apply even if I used it once and never opened it again since? eck.
I really like the brush. Left my lashes clump-free and it's easy to use. The formula is really good at keeping a curl also. But only problem is that this isn't readily available just anywhere and it's quiet expensive (AUD$30.00!).
What I don't like is removing it. I used it today because I have Kate's eye make up remover ready. I think it needs a good oil based make up remover because I used Kose's super cleansing liquid and it wouldn't budge. I had to rub my eyes a bit when removing it and a few lashes fell off! Also took three cotton swabs to get it all off! Would be nice if someone suggested a super duper make up remover to take off this mascara because I quiet like it.
Kudos to you if you've read this far!
