MADONO Japanese restaurant + day

Woke up late today so Jun and I decided to head to the city for lunch. Originally we were in search for a Japanese restaurant called 'Umaimon" which was recommended by Grabyourfork but we had trouble looking for it. Got too hungry and decided to head to Market City food court but on the way found a reasonably priced restaurant on Sussex St. MADONI Japanese restaurant. It's a little hidden because you have to walk down to a basement to access it. You only get to see the menu on the sidewalk.

Jun's always so reluctant when it comes to Japanese cuisine coz he thinks they all serve small morsels of dishes that will never fill you up but this place proved him wrong!

Besides the more than adequate amount of food that they serve, the interior is slightly whimsicle. I didn't wanna take every angle of the place coz I was already getting weird stares even though I took these photos without flash. They had wooden leaves and flowers painted in white and pink stuck on the walls and on the ceilings.

I liked their chandelier the most. I have this fascination with lights. I think it has something to do with the light shop right across the road from my house. They have all kinds of lights in different shapes and colors. They also leave on all the lights on display all day and all night so it's never dark outside =D I've bought three lampshades from them so far heh.

I ordered pork cutlet lunch set for AUD13.00 Jun ordered the wagyu beef lunch set for AUD16.90. We bought a small entree of spider roll (?) for AUD6.00. The spider roll has two pieces of california type rolls and two pieces with soft-shell crab. I just looove soft shell crab yummm. (Sry, can't do food porn like grabyourfork =/ )

Foooooooood

Get your chopsticks ready !

After walking around for a few hours in an attempt to make room for dessert ( and Jun constantly whinging and whining about me constantly stopping at every clothes and beauty shop) we went to Passionflower in Capitol. Ordered an ice cream dessert each. I got the 'national treasure' (I think that's what it's called) it's just green tea icecream with glutinous balls, red bean, black herbal jelly and clear lotus jelly with this coconut/milky sauce to top it off with. Jun got the choc brownie trio combo. We both felt so full and sick from it. Sugar overload!

Went to our last stop before heading back home - Lush. So unfortunate that they had to close down the Lush store in Chatswood. My friend Sylvia and I used to go to their night events in hope to win their hamper but that day never came. Also helped that a friend worked there and so I got everything half priced wooot ! Plus I think I was their only frequent customer.

Had to grab some 'angels on bare skin' from Lush coz I've almost reached the bottom of my container and I hardly go to the city so might as well top up. Last time, the lady gave me samples of aquamarina and herbalism to try out along with 10% off vouchers if I ever decide to buy the full size of either one, but they left a drying-feel to my skin, much like when you use soap and you can't move your face (not entirely of course) so I think I'll be settling with AOBS.

I use a little bit more than they recommend for the dry patches of skin on my face.

No pics of it on my face. I have very problematic skin at the moment and have dry patches of skin on my face. I used sunscreen today and it was stinging my face for some reason. By the time I got home, I had flakes of dry skin on my face that I peeled off gross!

They've stopped selling these in plastic containers now and they just wrap them in the paper. I'm trying to find a container that will keep the moist in the putty coz the plastic container tends to crack and pretty much dries it up.

Also I won three Doraimon soft toys from the skill testers today! I get so happy everytime I win lol I'm such a nerd but Capitol is the only place I can ever win in those skill tester machines and they're only a dollar to play. One of the bigger Doraimons cost AUD3.00 to win whereas the other took only AUD1.00 to win but it was the baby Doraimon that took AUD5.00 to win coz I was aiming for the one that was holding the donut and got the one holding the pot of choc sprinkles instead boooooo ...

Jun took this pic and I wasn't even ready. Double chin FTW !

Add to my collection weeeee
